Privacy Policy

Last updated: 17 April 2026.

Summary. Airplane AI is a fully on-device macOS app. The app sends no chat content, no audio, no images, and no metadata to the developer or to any third party. The developer is, for GDPR purposes, the controller only of support correspondence. For data you store inside the app, you are the data holder.

1. Controller

Controller under Article 4(7) GDPR:

Franz Enzenhofer, sole trader
Froebelgasse 62/8-9, 1160 Vienna, Austria
Phone: +43 677 62377236
Email: [email protected]

No Data Protection Officer is required under Article 37 GDPR for a sole trader of this size and none has been appointed.

2. The app processes locally only

Chats, prompts, outputs, attachments, images and audio remain exclusively inside the macOS App Sandbox container of the app on your device. There is no backend server, no user account, no telemetry, no analytics, no ad SDKs, and no crash-report service.

The only network traffic the operating system may perform on the app's behalf is Apple's StoreKit flow for in-app purchase and restore. StoreKit carries no chat content and is triggered only by an explicit user action on the purchase or restore screen.

3. Controller scope for in-app data

The developer is not the controller under Article 4(7) GDPR for content you create or store inside the app. Conversations, prompts, outputs, attachments, voice recordings, transcripts, and app settings live exclusively in the local sandbox container on your Mac. The developer has no remote access and operates no server able to receive this data.

4. Processing activities for which the developer is controller

4.1 Support correspondence

If you email us at [email protected], we process your email address, your name, and the content of your message to answer your request.

Legal bases: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual or contractual steps) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling support and protecting legal rights).

Retention: up to three years from the last exchange (general Austrian civil-law limitation under Section 1486 ABGB), longer only where statutory retention applies (for example seven years under Section 132 BAO for tax-relevant records).

4.2 Website operation

This website is served by an edge provider that may keep short-term server logs (IP address, requested URL, user-agent, timestamp) for technical availability and abuse prevention. Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

4.3 Payment via the App Store

Purchases of Airplane AI run through the Mac App Store. Apple Distribution International Limited (Ireland) is the controller for payment, purchase-history storage and receipt validation. The developer receives only aggregated settlement data from Apple, no payment-instrument or buyer-address data. See Apple Privacy.

5. Recipient categories

6. International transfers

The app itself performs no transfer of user content abroad, because no network connection is opened. For website delivery, third countries may be touched if the edge provider routes traffic through servers outside the European Union. In those cases, transfers rely on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the rights of access (Article 15), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction (Article 18), objection (Article 21), data portability (Article 20) and withdrawal of consent (Article 7(3)).

These rights run against the correct target:

8. Right to lodge a complaint

You may at any time complain to the Austrian Data Protection Authority:

Oesterreichische Datenschutzbehoerde (DSB)
Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, Austria
Email: [email protected]
Web: www.dsb.gv.at

9. Automated decision-making

Airplane AI does not take automated decisions under Article 22 GDPR. AI generation is always user-initiated and advisory, and is not applied to you automatically.

10. Online dispute resolution

EU Commission ODR platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. The developer is neither willing nor obliged to participate in a dispute-resolution procedure before a consumer arbitration body.

11. Source of data

The developer receives personal data only directly from you, typically when you send a support email. There is no collection from public sources or third parties.

12. Changes

This policy may change over time. The version publicly accessible at this address is the authoritative one. Material changes are marked.
